X Factor winner James Arthur has signed a new record deal with Columbia Germany. The twenty-seven year old was dropped from Simon’s Cowell label Syco in 2014, and has since stayed out of the spotlight.

The artist took to Twitter to thank his fans and to share the exciting news.
He said: “After a crazy 15 months I’m so happy to be able to say that I’ve signed a worldwide deal with a major label and releasing album 2 in 2016.”
This new contract is expected to start a new chapter in the singer’s career, especially by James himself, who admitted to be “excited about the future.”

James Arthur’s fame has often been put at risk due to his controversial disagreements with other artists. His 2013 row with X Factor colleague Lucy Spraggan left fans demanding a refund of his album, due to his homophobic remarks.
Yet Arthur is said to have taken a year off to “calm down and take stock.”

Columbia Germany is said to be the second biggest international record label.
As James’ first single Impossible topped the charts in several countries, this comeback will surely be one to look out for.
